Nash is the first senator from Wallowa County in Oregon history
SALEM, OR - In a historic milestone for Oregon Senate District 29, Todd Nash was officially sworn in today as Oregon State Senator, becoming the first senator in state history to hail from Wallowa County. Senator Nash brings decades of practical experience, a steadfast dedication to his constituents, and a deep passion for amplifying the voices of Eastern Oregon in the Oregon State Senate.
"It is a true honor and privilege to represent the people of Senate District 29, and I am eager to serve you in the Oregon State Senate," said Senator Nash. "My focus remains on addressing the issues that matter most to our communities-strengthening our local economy, protecting and supporting our natural resource industries, advancing common-sense policies, and ensuring rural Oregon's voice is heard and respected in Salem."
Senator Nash, a small cattle ranch owner and former Wallowa County Commissioner, has a long history of leadership and advocacy for rural Oregon. He is the Immediate Past President of the Oregon Cattlemen's Association, where he worked to support the state's ranching and agricultural communities.
For the 2025 legislative session, Senator Nash has been appointed to the following committees: Natural Resources & Wildfire (Vice Chair), Housing & Development, and Human Services.
In these roles, Senator Nash will focus on advocating and advancing agriculture and natural resources, addressing diverse housing needs, and improving essential services, including healthcare and mental health resources, for all Oregonians.
"I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues on practical solutions that address the unique needs of rural communities and underserved areas," Nash added.
Senate District 29 encompasses all of Gilliam, Morrow, Sherman, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, and Wheeler counties, as well as portions of Clackamas, Jefferson, Marion, and Wasco counties.
