Wheeler County Development Loan Committee approves loan to support Haven House Retirement Center

FOSSIL, OR - Wheeler County Development Corporation is excited to announce the approval of a $60,000 loan aimed at promoting economic development in the region.

This funding will support Haven House Retirement Center in remaining open and operational as it seeks grant funding and works towards achieving full occupancy.

"Haven House would like to express their gratitude to Greg Smith, OHCA, and Judge Morley for providing us with the ability to keep Haven House operational through a tough financial time. With the loan they provided, Haven House will continue operations and residents will remain in the comfort and security of their homes," stated Mayor Teri Hunt.

Haven House Retirement Center collaborated with the Wheeler County Development Corporation to secure financing from the John Logan Fund.

This funding provides essential permanent working capital needed to keep the center operational. The loan emphasizes community development initiatives and aims to foster positive outcomes for the community, making it a significant opportunity for impactful investment.

"This loan addresses the essential need articulated by The Fossil Elderly Housing Committee Board of Directors, Judge Morley, and Wheeler County Development to sustain the provision of affordable housing and care for the elderly residents within our community," remarked Greg Smith.
