The Gilliam County International Club met Sunday, November 3rd. Since both the President and Vice President were absent, the meeting was called to order by Cadence Wade. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Leader Gary Bettencourt and the 4-H Pledge was led by Cora Munkers.
The upcoming Christmas Tree Fundraiser was discussed. Trees will be arriving right after Thanksgiving and will be available to purchase at the following locations:
Open Country Farm & Feed: Condon
The Drive In: Condon
Arlington Hardware
KC's Country Value: Fossil
If you know an Internation Club Member, contact them to buy a tree before they are gone!
We then played a wicked battle of Travel Bingo showcasing all the possible items that we may need on our upcoming trip to Costa Rica. Fun was had by most.
Travel news for Costa Rica
The rainy season has definitely taken hold in the area. The current weather conditions in Costa Rica this week show highs in the mid 70's and lows in the mid 60's with chances of rain throughout the week.
While in Costa Rica, one of our tour stops will have us hiking in the Arenal Volcano National Park. The Arenal Volcano is Costa Rica's most active volcano. It is the youngest volcano in Costa Rica coming in at an age of 7,500 years old. There has been no new lava flows since 2010 but it is still considered an active volcano that could erupt at any time (but let's hope it holds off until we get home!).
Our next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, January 5th, 2025. Enjoy your holidays!!
