The Greater Columbia Barrel Racing Association recognized their top competitors for the year. Clem was well represented by Carson and Caydence Wade, daughters of Corey and Cari.
Carson and her horse Laroy brought home another saddle this year in the Open 3D division. In the barrel racing world a system was devised several years ago where for every half second behind the fastest time new division is created, giving more riders a chance to place and progress through the ranks as their expertise builds. The combo was also recognized as the reserve champion of the $1500 Novice class, which features horses that have under $1500 in lifetime winnings. Carson won an electric scooter as an award.
Caydence placed in the youth division and brought home with a saddle pad, a beautiful set of stirrups, and a bucket full of useful items. She moved up to a new to her horse late in the season and has made impressive runs.
The Hermiston based GCBRA hosts a competition twice a month April through October on Wednesdays. It takes a dedicated family unit to make it happen with lots of late-night returns home and the dedication to get up and go the next morning.
