“In Springfield, they are eating the dogs. The people that came in, they are eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there." This direct quote from a presidential candidate (and others just like it from City Council meetings, web-site and cable news chirons and Facebook page postings) show that adult Americans have lost their minds.
Following a presidential debate, the X account of “Black Insurrectionist” proclaimed an affidavit from an ABC News employee alleging that one candidate had been given debate questions ahead of time. Totally false. The other candidate blurted approval, however, declaring, “I love the person” and then claimed, also baselessly, that ABC News had “corrected” only one candidate, which had driven “the audience” wild. Completely false, and there was no audience. Black Insurrectionist alleged an affair between a V.P. candidate and a high-school student. Yep, false.
Slowly, it emerged that the charges came from Russian disinformation campaigns that had been swallowed hook, line and sinker by Black Insurrectionist. Some of my neighbors here in Spray believe this stuff. Disinformation from dubious sources easily hypnotizes half an electorate.
The Black Insurrectionist account on X is that of Mr. Jason G. Palmer. Local law enforcement and F.B.I. officials have nailed down his questionable backstory, the fact that he’s white, not black, that he has repeatedly defrauded business partners and bank lenders, and that he owes nearly $6,700,00.00 in back taxes (Brian Slodyskou’s reporting for apnew, October 25, 2024). His X account depicted an African-American soldier, claimed that he “follows back” “true patriots” (which doesn’t even make sense), and that he had 300,000 followers on a bad day. His followers include Donald Trump, J.D. Vance and plentiful Republican members of Congress. He has disavowed knowledge of the account (but claimed also that he wrote all the content); he has claimed to have sold the account in April or May (but to whom, he couldn’t remember); and says that he’s a Lone Wolf (but who also worked as a “researcher” for a “larger group”).
No one is doing “gender reassignment” on your child at Recess. Correlation does not equal causation, but empirical data collected in multiple academic disciplines (from cognitive psychology to urban sociology) show that people endorse conspiracies (say, that “they’re eating the dogs and cats”) if they FEEL alienated and powerless, if their leaders disseminate the same conspiracies and, more than anything, if they enjoy low levels of education. The January 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol illustrates White Privilege perfectly. I say, Teach It That Way.
