The current Oregon High School Rodeo Association 24-25 standings are out. The Columbia Basin High School Rodeo Club is well represented. Points are awarded to the top 10 finishers in each event. Some events have in excess of 90 contestants. The top four point earners in each event next June, will qualify for the National High School Rodeo Finals in Rock Springs, WY, where they will compete against kids from throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, and Australia. The 11-20th finishers qualify for the Silver State International Rodeo in Winnemucca, NV.
Arlington's Colt Gronquist is 10th in the Boys All Around with 41 points across all events. He is sitting 4th in the Steer Wrestling with 25 points. The Sophomore is 16th in the Team Roping with 14 points. The Calf Roping competition finds him 22nd with 2 points.
Reagan Martin, Hereford, is holding down 13th in the Girls All Around with 33 points. In the Pole Bending she sits 4th with 28 points. She has earned 5 points in Barrel Racing and is 21st.
Wheeler County is represented by Mitchell's Molly Davis, who sits in the top 20 in the Girls All Around race with 30 points. She has earned 15 points in the Goat Tying, which sits her in 7th place. The Breakaway competition finds her in 10th place with 14 points.
Ava Malcolm, Dufur, has earned four points In Pole Bending for 21st and three points in Barrel Racing, which puts her in 24th.
Hood River's Alex Bronson is 20th in the Goat Tying with five points. Piper Jones, also representing Hood River, has one point in Pole Bending and sits 27th.
The rodeo kids will take a break where most will participate in more traditional high school activities. The next rodeo competition will happen April 2025.
