OBITUARY: Patricia Anne Bond

Patricia Anne Bond (Long) was born February 11, 1932 in Newton Kansas to Elmer & Hazel (Hoffman) Long. She grew up and attended school In Hesston KS.

After graduation from high school, she attended Halsted School of Nursing in Halsted, KS & graduated as an RN.

She married Kenneth Bond in 1954 and moved to his hometown of Lebanon Oregon where they raised 4 children - Steven, Stephanie, William (Bill) and Peggy.

Patricia worked at Lebanon Community Hospital and then for Dr. Daugherty until he retired. She then worked as a school nurse for Lebanon Public Schools.

In the mid seventies, Ken and Pat bought a ranch in Central Oregon near Mitchell where they raised alfalfa and beef. While helping on the ranch, Pat continued her nursing as a home health nurse for Crook County.

In 1985 they purchased the general store in Mitchell and started the Wheeler County Trading Company. While in Mitchell, she volunteered as an EMT for the Mitchell Ambulance.

Pat was a hard working woman but she also enjoyed her time spent teaching Sunday School, canning, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved the Lord and her greatest wish was that all her friends and family would follow Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ken, son William, sister Margaret Long, brothers Sam and Bill Long. She is survived by her son Steve Bond of Mitchell, daughters Stephanie Salvage of Lebanon, and Peggy Lindquist of Mitchell, sister Sue Enns of Hesston, nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
