School is back in session in Arlington, Fossil, Spray, Mitchell, and in Sherman County – and will start in Condon next week.
Parents and kids are getting back into the routine, and many kids are starting in their first year of Kindergarten.
Enrollment numbers for the schools are fairly consistent with those in previous years.
Sherman County, which is a combined school for all students in the county, eclipsed 200 students in the grade school and junior high this year – with a total of 207 kids enrolled.
The Sherman County High School has 80 kids enrolled, with 23 i n the senior class.
The other schools have much smaller enrollment numbers.
In Condon, there are 88 kids in K-8 grades, and 47 in the High School. The 2025 graduating class has 12 students enrolled.
In Arlington, 74 kids are enrolled K-8, 50 in High School, including 14 seniors. The school has a new Career Technical Education (CTE) teacher.
In Fossil, the K-8 grades are at 59 students, with 21 enrolled at Wheeler High School, and three seniors preparing for graduation.
Mitchell has 25 kids enrolled in K-8, and 15 in high scho ol, 14 of which are foreign exchange students. Mitchell High School has two seniors in the 2025 class.
Spray also has several foreign exchange students – with fourteen kids from around the globe enrolling this year, out of 29 in the high school. There are 28 kids enrolled in grades K-8 and four seniors in the 2025 class.
