Several entrepreneurs gathered at the A-Town Station last Wednesday to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the entrepreneurship class known as Co-Starters.

Co-Starters is a product of the organization Reinventing Rural, which was founded by CEO Brad Attig. The class allows for participants to work through their concepts for a business to see if it is viable – and to learn from a supportive group of like-minded people.

In the summer of 2023, a group of aspiring business people from the Co-Starters cohort linked up to open The Pop in Arlington. With a small building constructed by students at the Arlington Honker Shop, an oasis was created next to the Earl Snell Park in Arlington and by Big River Pizza. The Pop featured several local artisans and creatives. The experience and camaraderie

snowballed and led the creation of the A-Town Station, the brick and mortar cooperative that is home to several vendors and small businesses.

At the event was the new Executive Director for the Oregon Frontier Chamber of Commerce, Brittany Dark.

With pizza provided by Big River Pizza, those in attendance had a chance to catch up and share stories.

Several Co-Starters Core classes have been held in the area, and virtual classes are being offered regularly. Keep an eye out for announcements from the Oregon Frontier Chamber, especially for anyone who wants to flesh out an idea for a potential business.
