George Knapp digs into cattle mutilation phenomenon

Investigative journalist George Knapp was in Condon on Wednesday, digging into the cattle mutilation phenomenon that gripped Wheeler County from 2019 - 2021.

With a camera crew in tow, Knapp interviewed Sargent Jeremiah Holmes of the Wheeler County Sheriff's Office.

Sgt. Holmes has served as the lead investigator for the five incidents of cattle deaths that have gone unsolved in Wheeler County from 2019 to 2021.

The crew is expected to continue into Wheeler County and is looking at other areas in Eastern Oregon that experienced unexplained cattle deaths.

Between 2018 and 2022, more than 20 cattle were mutilated in Eastern Oregon. Most cattle were missing reproductive organs that were removed with precision - fueling speculation that a cult or even extra-terrestrial creatures were behind the deaths.

Knapp was an anchor for KLAS TV in Las Vegas and began reporting on extra-terrestrial affairs in the late 1980s. Recently, he was featured on the Showtime series "UFOs." Knapp helped to make Area 51 into a part of popular culture in America. Knapp has won the prestigious Edward R. Murrow award and the Peabody award for his investigative journalism.
