The S. Wasco Co. Redsides didn't look prepared for the Condon Blue Devils team that took the court in Maupin on Wednesday night.
After beating the Blue Devils by 33 points in January, the Big Sky West's top seeded team was shocked to be down 22-21 at the half.
S. Wasco Co. won the game 56-49 but the game was close throughout.
When asked if the Blue Devils surprised the Redsides, Condon Coach Teren Humphreys said it seemed that way.
"It was not our best shooting night, which kind of sucks on a night like that because I thought we did a good job of taking good shots and didn't force anything," Coach Humphrey said.
Condon handled S. Wasco's pressure well for the most part. The Redsides are big and trap the ball well but overall, Condon adjusted well and didn't have many turnovers.
"I thought we came out and did an OK job," Coach Humphrey said. He continued, "It was a hard situation because our two seniors (Barrera and Carnine) are the only ones that have played in any postseason games before."
The Blue Devils will play Echo on Friday for the third-spot in the state tournament. The location has not been set but it will likely be in Arlington.
