Port of Morrow CEO Ryan Neal passes away

Ryan Neal, CEO and Executive Director of the Port of Morrow passed away on Tuesday, January 18th.

Neal was at the helm of Oregon’s second largest port for three years and took over in 2019 after his father, Gary Neal retired.

Ryan Neal started his management career at Knight Transportation in 2006 after graduating from Oregon State University in 2004 with a degree in Business Management.

Neal began working at the Port of Morrow in 2016 as Operations Manager.

In 2018 Neal was selected over 33 other applicants for the Executive Director position at the Port of Morrow.

Representative Greg Smith (R-Heppner) said, “It is with a heavy heart we share the passing of our colleague and friend, Ryan Neal, Executive Director and CEO of the Port of Morrow.  He has been a strong advocate for ports throughout the United States and abroad, and his work in economic development at the Port of Morrow has made our economy stronger in Eastern Oregon. Ryan has left a legacy of hard work, professionalism, and good will throughout our region and will be missed by all of us.”
