Fire officials have lifted the Level 1 Evacuation Notice for Mitchell. The Lewis Rock Fire currently sits at 103 acres and is 50% contained, officials say.
Firefighters have completed a bulldozer line around the fire perimeter and have it 90% plumbed with fire hose.
Residents should be aware that danger still exists in the area and the Wheeler County Sheriff’s office encourages people to continue monitoring emergency services.
